Charred Attic Restored in Carrillon Beach, FL
After an electrical fire in this Carrillon Beach home the attic was left charred and what appears to be in ruins. Not when you have a local SERVPRO Franchise. SERVPRO of Bay County was called to see if they could save anything. The homeowner was told "no way" by several people. After the initial assessment the project manager knew there was a way to restore and not replace. The process is called media blasting. In this case the media was dry ice, the process is called ice blasting. When the ice makes contact with the charred wood it strips the char away and leaves clean like new looking wood. The final step is sealing the wood to ensure the odor is covered as you can see in the after photo. Now the attic is complete and the reconstruction of the home can begin.
