Rebuilding our SERVPRO home after Hurricane Michael

October 10th was just 2 days before SERVPRO of Bay County was to paint the walls of their brand-new building. This new building was something the Bay County team had worked hard to achieve. The warehouse would be triple the size, the parking lot was larger and fully paved, the offices were newly remodeled, and a brand-new conference room was built. New paint meant we were very close to moving in. However, October 10th2018 the residents of Bay County Florida woke up to the weather Channel forecasting Hurricane Michael to not only be a direct hit but also a Category 4 storm.
Like so many others in our community when the storm passed, we found our new building destroyed. The winds had ripped through 1403 Florida Avenue leaving bent and broken steel beams and metal flapping in the wind. The walls that were ready for paint were now wet and ruined. The SERVPRO of Bay County team was clearly disappointed but we didn't have time to focus on our loss, our community needed us to help them with the water and destruction in their homes and commercial properties.
As our SERVPRO of Bay County teams worked hard, long, demanding hours to help rebuild our Bay County community it became apparent our office building would have to wait. In the mean time we worked out of a 20x20 tent a mobile office and for some it was out of our homes and cars.
We are happy to say that 6 months after the devastation we have moved into our new building. It is beautiful and we are so grateful to have a business home.
We invite you to visit us at 1403 Florida Ave, Panama City Fl 32401, we’d love to give you a tour.
